You will be picked up at your hotel in a chauffeur driven Mercedes limousine or minivan. You will embark on a 2,5 hour scenic drive crossing the Hungarian lowlands and through the Burgenland to Vienna. During your journey your guide will share with you the historic background to your tour.

 

First of all, you drive along the famous Ring Boulevard. You will get out of the car to marvel at the impressive buildings in the style of Historism constructed under Emperor Franz Josef, like the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Art, the Parliament, the City Hall, the Court Theatre and the Vienna University.

 

On Heroe's Square you may take pictures of the vast complex of the Hofburg Palace. The former residence of the Habsburgs boasts over 2.600 rooms!  Admire the ample wings and courtyards of the Hofburg and see the Heroe's Square, the Spanish Riding School, the stables of the Lipizzan horses and the church of St. Augustine. There Emperor Franz Josef married his 16-year-old cousin Sisi. You also see several locations from the famous movie "The Third Man".

At the end of the walking tour your guide will show you the Sacher Hotel, the Albertina museum and the Monument against War and Fascism.

 

Leaving the city center you get to the Danube area with the United Nations buildings and the Danube Tower. You also visit the nearby Prater amusement park with the world-famous Giant Ferris Wheel.

 

On the way to the Schönbrunn Palace you pass other sights like the City Park with the famous golden statue of Johann Strauss, St. Charles’ church and the concert hall of the Musikverein.
